The 550,000 square-foot facility will serve as the distribution center for the company’s operations in the United States and Canada, the company said, and replaces Crocs' current facility located outside of Los Angeles, California.

The new distribution center is approximately 40% larger than the former facility, houses new automation, and is expected to employ over 150 full-time individuals. According to the company, the Dayton facility is expected to see throughput increase by approximately 50%, compared to the previous facility.

The new location’s improvements, as well as the facility’s location in the central part of the country, are expected to significantly increase speed-to-market capabilities for wholesale customers and e-commerce consumers, Crocs said.

“Today’s opening of our new Americas distribution center in Dayton, Ohio is essential to our future, as it will support our rapidly growing business and provide an enhanced customer experience,” said Bill Bine, senior vice president of global supply chain.

The new distribution center’s opening comes as Crocs experiences record annual sales, with the company reporting a 19.8% increase in revenue in the third quarter in late October.

The company’s net revenues for the third quarter ended September 30, 2019, totaled a record $312.8 million, up from the $261.1 million reported in Q3 2018.
