Deckers Brands appoints new independent director to board

Goleta, California-based footwear group Deckers Brands announced on Tuesday the appointment of Juan R. Figuereo to its board of directors. 

Figuereo brings experience from Revlon Inc., where he most recently served as the executive vice president and chief financial officer, from 2016 to 2017, as well as from NII Holdings, Inc., a wireless communication services provider, where he served as executive vice president and chief financial officer, from 2012 to 2015. 

Prior to that, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Newell Brands, from 2009 to 2012, and executive vice president and chief financial officer of Cott Corporation from 2007 to 2009. 

Figuereo has equally served in senior management positions at Walmart Inc. and PepsiCo, Inc. and is currently director and chair of the audit committee at PVH Corp.

"I am excited to join the Deckers board of directors," said Figuereo, in a news statement.

"I look forward to the opportunity to contribute my expertise to this dynamic portfolio of brands, as they continue to drive their key strategies and engage with consumers around the world.”

The company's portfolio of brands includes Ugg, Koolaburra, Hoka One One, Teva and Sanuk. 

For the full fiscal year ending March 31, Deckers predicts sales in the range of $2.15 billion to $2.16 billion, while diluted earnings per share are expected to be between $9.40 and $9.50.
