Belgian luxury leather goods house Delvaux has opened its first U.S. flagship store on New York's 5th Avenue, after announcing the store's arrival in March of 2018.

The new store was designed in collaboration between Delvaux president and director Jean-Marc Loubier and architectural firm Vudafieri Saverino Partners, and provides a fitting atmosphere to match the brand's reputation of luxury and refinement.

The two-story location features marble and Versailles parquet floors, a wall adorned with leather cutting tools from the Brussels workshop, Emiel Veranneman tables and color references to the Belgian flag. The recently renovated and customized staircase leads to a velvet lounge on the second floor overlooking Central Park, framed by large windows and an antique chandelier originally housed in a Flemish church.

Prior to the arrival of the luxury goods brand, the location housed art and antique dealer A La Vieille Russie.

The new store now joins Delvaux locations in Brussels, Paris, London, Milan, Tokyo and Beijing.

Founded in 1829 in Brussels, Delvaux cites itself as the oldest luxury leather house in the world, offering leather handbags typically ranging from $3,450 to $7,700.

Prior to the New York flagship's opening, Delvaux pieces were exclusively available in the U.S. at Barneys New York.
