Denmark's Bestseller allegedly makes UK redundancies

Danish brand house Bestseller, which has brands like Jack & Jones and Vero Moda, has reportedly let 10 UK sales staff go, according to Drapers.

The redundancies are believed to have been made in the Manchester and London offices of Bestseller's menswear teams, which include Selected Homme, Jack & Jones and Only & Sons. A source told Drapers that the decision was the result of the downfall of big multi-brand retailers such as Bank, which has hit Bestseller's wholesale business hard.

The source said: "The product is still doing really well, but the big boys going under have hit them. They don't need as many people as the big accounts are not there. They are trimming down the regional people as they can get others to cover those areas."

But according to another source, the company regularly reviews its teams and makes changes according to which brands are growing.
