Diesel: Alessandro Bogliolo, its new CEO, is renowned in the luxury market

From luxury to denim: after nearly 17 years at Bulgari, Alessandro Bogliolo will head up the management team at Diesel. Chosen for his image as an eclectic globe-trotter, the Italian manager will assume his new functions as of October 1, according to a press release from the Italian denim company founded 35 years ago by Renzo Rosso.

Alessandro Bogliolo began his career as a consultant with Bain & Co, first in Paris and then in Milan. After a stint at two-wheeler manufacturer Piaggio in Spain and China, he joined jeweler Bulgari in 1996 as general manager for Southeast Asia. By 2009 he had risen to become Bulgari’s director of operations, a position he held until 2012, when he became director of North American operations for Sephora.

After naming Nicola Formichetti as artistic director of the brand at the beginning of the year and the kick-off of the first marketing initiatives, such as the #DieselReboot campaign, this new arrival is the perfect complement. Diesel is a premium international brand and Alessandro's background cannot but confirm and enrich this positioning and our future development ambitions,” commented Renzo Rosso, president of OTB, Diesel’s holding company.

Alessandro Bogliolo fills the position left vacant last March by Daniela Riccardi, who chose to leave the company at the end of her contract. The management team was also strengthened at the end of July by the arrival of Tommaso Brusò, former president and CEO of Furla USA, as the head of Diesel USA.
