DominicanaModa 2015 to introduce emerging designers

DominicanaModa, Dominican Republic’s official fashion week, announced the emerging designers that will participate in the tenth edition of the event, set to take place from October 20 to 24 at the Hotel Embajador.

The jury chose the six fashion designers that will be able to show their creations at the Dominican catwalk. Winners are Verónica Modesto, Carmen Rincón, Laura Sánchez, Marye de Jesús, Ariel Encarnación and Rafael Rivero.

Additionally, the event will welcome the French designer Jean Paul Gaultier thanks the the Fashion for Help initiative. The couturier will present a fashion show to raise funds for a local hospital.

DominicanaModa was born in 2006 to provide an exposure platform for Dominican designers and later, to become a business hub for these designers to boost their careers.
