Cyber Monday 2016 has been etched into eBags’ e-commerce history as the biggest online day in history. The online retailer announced on Thursday that Cyber Monday 2016 was its biggest online day for sales, mobile, and website traffic, and Cyber Five (Thursday through Monday) was a record breaking period as well.

Over the five-day period, eBags mobile visits grew 92%, mobile sales increased 80% and traffic increased 40%, with Cyber Monday alone accommodating 320,000 visitors. The retailer’s own brand grew 74% and was the number one selling brand on the site even over Samsonite, which grew 108% during Cyber Five. In addition, mobile accounted for 43% of total visits and 21% of total sales, and international sales doubled.

"Our team worked very hard to bring incredible deals to our customers and they responded by driving our Black Friday and Cyber Monday volumes to new all-time highs," said eBags CEO Mike Edwards. "Customers should keep shopping because we aren't done yet. In December, we will launch more great Steals and Deals on our top products, provide great deals on eBags gift cards, and launch fast and affordable shipping options so your gifts arrive on time."

On Thanksgiving, eBags launched its Trade In, Trade Up deal that allows shoppers to use eBags shipping boxes to donate retired bags, or any used items, to Goodwill, and on December 9, the retailer will launch a two-day shipping promotion.

Reuters reported on Tuesday that shoppers spent $3.45 billion on Cyber Monday 2016 making the online sales day the biggest in history.
