The 99 Cents Only Stores located at 11040 W Pico Blvd. is currently showing 4 fashion styles created by groups of design students in a visual communications class at LA's Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.

"This visual design challenge presents a unique experience for our visual communications students to apply skills learned within their curriculum to a real world design opportunity. Students will see their design concepts brought to life and showcased in a public venue," says Cynthia Patino, Director of FIDM Visual Communications.

Product categories that were used as themes for the fashion designs included Household Supplies, Halloween Products, Food Packaging and Party Supplies.

The designs are on display through September 22, where consumers can vote for the winning style and compete for their own prizes.

The work has whimsical titles such as 99Nightmares for the Halloween themed style and 99PoundsLater for the food packaging themed piece.

FIDM's LA campus is currently host to Project Runway Junior which is hosted by Tim Gunn on Lifetime.
