Fashion & accessories artists recognized for first-ever Etsy Awards

Etsy Canada announced on Tuesday the 60 selected finalists for its first-ever Etsy Awards.
 
The Etsy Awards celebrate the best of Canadian creativity. Finalists are in the running to win one of five category-based $1,000 cash prizes. The winners will be selected by a panel of judges and one grand prize of $10,000 will be determined by public vote.

 
“We are so excited to celebrate and share the talent of the finalists with the public – these makers truly embody Etsy’s mandate of community and craftsmanship and we couldn’t be more proud," says Erin Green, Managing Director of Etsy Canada, in a news statement. “With close to 2000 entries, it was difficult for us judges to narrow down the incredible talent seen across the country to just 60 finalists.”
 
Among finalists in its Fashion and Accessories category, 12 designs from 12 separate designers were chosen; a Boho Leather Fringe Clutch by Grace Design; a Crystal Lattice Body Chain by Dolorous Jewelry Design; a Hemera Necklace by Coven SK; a Homestead Weekender Bag by Jenna Rose Handmade; Terra Lacuna Moonstone Ring by Hart and Stone; a Leather Duffel Bag by Wilhelm & Friends; a Leather Knife Roll by Contour Co.; a Mini Pack in Dark Oak/Veld by Bookhou Design; a Pender Leather Bucket Bag by AW by Andrea Wong; a Shibori Dyed Silk Blend Dress by Devlyn van Loon; a Tiny Sparkler Point Ring by Foe & Dear; and finally, a Watercolour Floral Oversized Clutch by Agape + Hesed.

All winners will be announced June 20. Public voting for the Community Choice Award winner is now open, through to June 6.
