Loon’s self-titled womenswear line is based in Toronto, Canada, where she makes clothes from deadstock materials imported from Europe and combined with certified-organic textiles.

“The Shibori Dyed Silk Blend Tank Split Dress is one of my favourite pieces from the SS16 collection. This piece was designed to be a relaxed, every day style for the summer,” the designer says.

This winning piece was hand-dyed using the shibori technique, a Japanese style dating back to the 18th century.

From over 2,000 entries, Loon’s was selected by a judging panel and will receive a $1000 cash prize. A total of six winners were selected in six categories such as home and living, Art and illustration and more.

Etsy is a marketplace where millions of people around the world connect, both online and offline, to make, sell and buy unique goods. The Etsy Awards celebrate the best of Canadian creativity.
