Fast fashion retail company Fashion Nova has been accused again of creating copycat designs; this time by New York-based contemporary womenswear designer, Kim Shui.

In the most recent incident, two dresses put up for sale on the retailer’s e-commerce platform bare a striking resemblance to two of Shui’s original designs, which have been worn by Kylie Jenner and posted on the star’s Instagram. While Shui’s designs retail for $295 and $260, both Fashion Nova knock offs are being sold for $39.99.

According to Shui, the copycat dresses were brought to her attention by her followers on Instagram.

“I had two followers on Instagram DM me the link as they had seen it online on the Fashion Nova website,” Shui told FashionNetwork.com.

“I don’t mind at all if pieces are inspired or very similar to mine,” the designer continued, “the only thing here is that it actually looks like a replica–there are no differences; everything looks exactly the same for a fraction of our cost.”

This isn’t the first time that Fashion Nova--which became Google’s top trending clothing brand for 2018--has been accused of copying designs. Among other independent designers, designer Luci Wilden of the brand Knots & Vibes accused the company of making a seemingly identical version of her design in January of this year, while Destiney Bleu of D.bleu.dazzled (whose ‘Midnight Sky Tights’ have also been worn by Jenner, as well as Beyoncé) has sighted Fashion Nova selling copycats of her pieces as early as 2016.

Relating to other members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, Fashion Nova has also regularly released copycat versions of pieces worn by Kim Kardashian-West.

Although rumors swirled that Kardashian-West may have been in cahoots with the retailer as part of a shadowy business deal, the reality TV star and entrepreneur has refuted any connection. Fashion Nova also released a post on Instagram in February stating that they “have not worked with Kim Kardashian-West directly on any of her projects.”

Fashion Nova has yet to respond to FashionNetwork.com’s request for comment. Both apparent knock-off versions of Shui’s dresses are still up for sale on the retailer’s website.

Founded in 2016, the Kim Shui brand has been seen on Jenner, as well as Gigi Hadid, Solange Knowles, Cardi B, Olivia Palermo and Kali Uchis, among others.
