French luxury footwear label J.M. Weston is enjoying its forays into film, recruiting the hugely popular French actor and comedian Omar Sy in its latest clip.

The star of the 'The Intouchable' and 'Jurassic World' movies is cast as Sleeping Beauty in a video released at J.M. Weston's Parisian temporary store on the Champs-Elysées, and on the label's website and social media platforms. It is an ironic new take on the classic fable, in which Sy, bare-foot and plunged into eternal sleep, is eventually awakened by a princess who slips him on J.M. Weston's latest loafer model.

The shoe is the Moc'Weston, the pink version of the label's signature 180 loafer, a light summer shoe which is available in an unconventional colour palette at J.M. Weston's stores and retail corners from 15th March.

In the video, Omar Sy works with some of his close friends, such as singer Oxmo Puccino, the video's director, producer Olivier Bassuet, creative director Mathias Kiss and actress Alexia Giordano as the princess.

It is by no means the first video produced by J.M. Weston. In 2013 the luxury footwear label released a short film directed by Cédric Klapisch showcasing its women's collection, and last year it produced another with director James Bort, also dedicated entirely to the Moc’Weston model and featuring ballet dancer and Opera de Paris star Mathieu Ganio.

For Omar Sy this venture into footwear is not a first, since the actor recently launched sneaker label Enso in partnership with Vincent Guillet, founder of French luxury leather goods brand Anonyme.
