Garrett Leight California Optical this week debuted its first-ever pre-fall eyewear collection designed exclusively for women.

The female-focused capsule collection features a number of new eyewear silhouettes and reinterpreted classics inspired by 1970s silhouettes and a 1990s color palette.

Two new GLCO frames, the Granada and Valencia, are an update to a vintage mid-century sunglass with high-gloss acetates and custom mirrored lenses, and an ultra-thin metal frame with oversized, lightly tinted lenses, respectively. The Kinney and Wilson frames are reinterpreted for the collection and the Grant Clip is updated as well.

“Reinvention is the name of the game,” said Garrett Leight. “After five years of releasing two collections a year, we've decided it was high time to introduce a more fashion-focused Pre-Fall Collection of new sun styles. Our core message hasn't changed – we've just decided to expand and introduce a limited run of sunglasses that releases the inner "it girl" in our female customers.”

The GLCO brand has gradually grown in a span of five years. Before 2016, the brand launched numerous collaborations with Thierry Lasry, Mark McNairy, Amélie Pichard, and Ruffian among others, and opened retail locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City. The brand kicked off the year with the launch of its 5th anniversary collection.

The women’s pre-fall collection will launch in late July and will be available on the Garrett Leight website, at GLCO stores and at fine retailers.
