Gen Art has announced the return of its Fresh Faces in Fashion competition in Los Angeles. The competition will be held on Thursday, August 4 at Willow Studios.

Five Los Angeles-based designers will debut their collections in categories including ready-to-wear, sportswear/streetwear and accessories. The five designers presenting in the competition, Rafa, Bristol, Elliott Evan, Legier and 34N 118W, are considered to be this year’s best representation of the West Coast lifestyle.

Bristol and Elliott Evan specialize in menswear, Rafa produces footwear, Legier designs jewelry and 34N 118W produces womenswear. The competitors will present their collections in a runway show followed by a performance by Faarrow.

Gen Art will select only one of the brands as winner in October, and will award them a place in its yearlong incubator program. In 2015, it selected Daniel Silverstein as the winner of the Fresh Faces in Fashion competition over brands Ada + Nik and House of Cannon.

The New York City-based talent incubator launched its Fresh Faces competition in 1995 and honored designers and brands throughout the over 20 year period including Zac Posen, Duckie Brown, Phillip Lim, Rodarte, and Rebecca Taylor. Earlier this year, Gen Art launched Openhouse, its first in-house women’s fashion label.

Tickets for the Fresh Faces in Fashion event, including pre-reception, post party and a standing ticket for the runway show, are available now for $50.
