Celebrity lifestyle brand Goop is set to launch its well-known pop-up MRKT concept in Canada for the first time ever.

The lifestyle brand founded and helmed by Gwyneth Paltrow is expected to open in Toronto, on June 7 and will run until September 22.

The 1,300-square-foot pop-up space will be housed inside of The Hazelton Hotel in the Yorkville neighborhood and will feature Goop-approved favorites across clean beauty, wellness, luxury fashion, and curated home essentials, the company said.

Customers can shop a Canada-specific edit of ready-to-wear, swim, and activewear from brands including La DoubleJ, ATM, Bassike, Rhode, Natalie Martin, as well as jewelry from designers including La Californienne and Foundrae.

Likewise, the space will be stocked with a home assortment and a clean beauty apothecary packed with skin care, makeup, and body care from brands including Tata Harper, Kosas, May Lindstrom, Necessaire, and Vintner’s Daughter.

It will also feature Goop’s own collection of clean skin care and Goop’s own lines of G. Label apparel and G. Sport activewear.

Similar pop-ups have previously emerged in Los Angeles, New York and London, though the Toronto pop-up MRKT will have its very own unique interior store design and product selection.

The Toronto pop-up, designed by international design firm Yabu Pushelberg, was inspired by the Yorkville neighborhood - the birthplace of the Toronto Film Festival.

“Creating the right tone for the pop-up has been an interesting process, a coming together of the psyche of what Toronto is all about with the strong personality of the Goop brand,” shared George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg of Yabu Pushelberg.

“If the Goop customer lived in Toronto, she would feel differently and live differently than the one in New York or Los Angeles. Each city and each context is unique, and that is the challenge, and the fun.”

Goop has been available in Canada since 2017 when the company first expanded its e-commerce operations outside of the U.S.

It also brought its first-ever physical presence to Canada earlier that year for a short period when it launched a partnership with Nordstrom.

“We’ve always been in awe of our neighbors to the north, which is why we picked Canada as the first place to launch e-commerce internationally in 2017,” said Melanie Ramer, Goop’s vice president of retail.

“Since then, we’ve created moments in Montreal and Vancouver, so it felt like the natural next step to activate in Toronto with our first Goop MRKT pop- up shop. We hope locals and travelers alike will enjoy what we have to offer at Goop MRKT Toronto.”
