Global retailer company Hudson's Bay Company has appointed Stephanie Coyles to its board of directors, effective as of March 27.

Coyles brings more than 25 years of experience in advanced analytics, digital transformation and marketing across multiple North American retail and consumer-facing companies to the board.

From 2012 to 2017, she served as an independent senior advisor to both private equity and business consulting clients on digital and advanced analytics topics. In addition, Coyles previously held the role of senior vice president and chief strategy officer for loyalty marketing consulting company LoyaltyOne, and spent a majority of her career as both a management consultant and a partner at McKinsey & Company, where she was one of the leaders of the loyalty and marketing practice.

“[Coyles'] extensive experience in retail and consumer brands bolsters this perspective among our board as we work to enhance the customer experience, unlock value for our shareholders and position HBC for the future,” said Richard Baker, HBC’s governor and executive chairman.

The addition of Coyles brings the company's board up to 13 directors.

In addition to HBC, Coyles also currently serves on the board of directors at Sun Life Financial Inc., a Toronto-based life insurance company, and Metro Inc., a Canadian grocery store chain. Previously, she served as a member of the board of Postmedia Network Canada Inc.

Headquartered in Canada, HBC owns and operates a variety of retail stores throughout Canada, the United States and Europe, with a portfolio that includes Saks Fifth Avenue, Hudson's Bay, Lord & Taylor, and Saks Off 5th.
