Hudson's Bay to hire 5,000 associates for the holiday season

Canadian retailer Hudson’s Bay announced on Wednesday plans to hire more than 5,000 seasonal and permanent associates across the country for the upcoming holiday season. 

The positions are to be filled at the retailer’s coast-to-coast store network of 85 locations spanning seven provinces, during the busiest shopping season of the year. Candidates are invited to apply online or to hand in a resume in-person at any Hudson’s Bay location.

“At Hudson’s Bay, our goal is to help Canadians live a colourful life through our assortment of quality products and exceptional in-store service and experiences,” said Toni Spence, chief human resources officer, Hudson’s Bay, in a news statement. 

“Our associates are the driving force behind our business, and we are committed to creating a work environment where associates feel supported and valued, and a shopping environment that exceeds our customers’ expectations. We can already feel the excitement building within our stores, and are looking forward to a great holiday season!”

Most recently, The Bay was spun off from Hudson’s Bay as a separate business, as the Hudson’s Bay operates its full-line locations and The Bay operates thebay.com including Marketplace, which welcomes over 500 new sellers and significantly-expanded product categories.
