Womenswear retailer J.Jill announced on Tuesday the appointment of Elliot Staples as senior vice president of design.
Staples joins J.Jill from Maurices and The Limited where he held vice president of design positions, as well as from roles at The Gap and Adrienne Vittadini.
He will officially join J.Jill on February 25, where he will report directly to CEO Linda Heasley, overseeing concept and trend, fabric and color, design, technical design and product development for the company.
“I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Elliot for years and look forward to having him on my team once again. We are excited to welcome his creative mind and vision to the J.Jill brand,” said Heasley.
Heasley joined the company as chief executive officer less than a year ago in April 2018. The appointment was followed by Brian Beitler, executive vice president, chief marketing and brand development officer, as well as Shelley Liebsch, senior vice president, chief merchandising officer.
The newly designed SVP design role at J. Jill, replaces the role of executive vice president, chief creative officer, which was previously held by Joann Fielder.
