JCPenney adds Debora Plunkett to Board, Colleen Barrett to retire

JCPenney announced on Thursday the election of Debora Plunkett to its Board of Directors, and the retirement of Colleen Barrett from the Board, effective at the end of her term on May 19, 2017.

Plunkett is the former senior advisor to the director of the US National Security Agency (NSA). She most recently served as a professor at University of Maryland University College teaching graduate-level cybersecurity courses, and as a consultant on cybersecurity, information assurance and management topics at her firm, Plunkett Associates. Plunkett also serves on the strategic advisory board for the International Consortium for Minority Cybersecurity Professionals and for CyberMaryland.
 
In addition to Plunkett’s election to the Board of the Directors, Colleen Barrett is retiring from the Board after having served since 2004. Barrett is currently the President Emeritus of Southwest Airlines Co.

JCPenney began 2017 with the sale of its Plano, TX headquarters. Dreien Opportunity Partners acquired the property for $353 million
