The Swiss watchmaker has unveiled a second special-edition Reverso watch paying tribute to the famous Dutch painter. The new model brings one of Van Gogh's famous self-portraits to an iconic timepiece, first created in 1931.

Jaeger-LeCoultre honors Vincent van Gogh with a Reverso watch featuring an enamel miniature of "Self-Portrait as a Painter."

Jaeger-LeCoultre has teamed with Gassan jewelers and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam to craft a special-edition timepiece, matching creativity with watchmaking expertise in a Reverso that celebrates the post-impressionist painter. This original creation has been meticulously crafted by the watchmaker's artisans, who have notably created a miniature enamel reproduction of one of the artist's works.

Van Gogh meets the Reverso

The watchmaker has chosen its iconic model, the Reverso, as a means of paying homage to the famous painter. Created in 1931, this timepiece has an original case that swivels 180 degrees. The Reverso à Éclipse today sees its dial adorned with a miniature enamel reproduction of Van Gogh's "Self-Portrait as a Painter" (1887-88), one of his most famous paintings, currently part of the permanent collection of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

The Reverso à Eclipse features a shutter mechanism that can be opened to reveal the miniature reproduction.

This model has a reversible platinum case and uses the in-house Jaeger-LeCoultre 849 movement with hours and minutes functions.

This isn't the first time that Jaeger-LeCoultre has celebrated the painter, as a first Van Gough special edition was released in 2015, featuring his iconic sunflowers.

This latest Van Gogh watch is a highly limited edition, with just four pieces set to be produced. It can be admired at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
