Jared The Galleria of Jewelry has launched the first luxury watch trade-in program of its kind for its retail stores through a partnership with luxury watch consignment and resale site Crown & Caliber.

The trade-in program allows customers to bring their worn luxury watches in store for an estimate based on Crown & Caliber's appraisal and market data. Customers receive an email with the valuation estimate, at which point they can choose store credit, cash, or the option to upgrade.

If the customer accepts the appraisal, they receive instructions to send the watch to Crown & Caliber for authentication and further inspection.

Erik Miller, vice president of divisional operations, Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry, said the company was excited to roll out the new program, explaining that it offers "a convenient and trusted solution" that will also introduce customers to Jared's fine jewelry and watch assortment.

Hamilton Powell, founder and CEO of Crown & Caliber said the five-year-old brand is "thrilled to broaden [its] service offering" through the Jared partnership, stating that his company believes the new program will "ensure confidence and ultimate satisfaction in their trade-in."

Jared is hoping to recruit customers with trade-ins from brands including Rolex, Omega, Tag Heuer, Breitling, Cartier, Panerai, Iwc, and Patek Philippe.

Jared is operated by parent company Signet Jewelers, which operates 3,500 brick-and-mortar locations.

Crown & Caliber was launched in 2013 as an exclusively online marketplace dedicated to the resale of pre-owned luxury watches. It has a 40-person team headquartered in Atlanta, GA.
