Adidas Originals has unveiled its highly-anticipated collaboration with fashion designer Ji Won Choi.

The sportswear label and the New York creative's joint womenswear collection made its debut during London Fashion Week at the weekend, offering up a sportswear-inspired series that channelled the athletic brand's heritage and the designer's Korean heritage.

The 17-piece line, which puts a fresh spin on the classic tracksuit in addition to offering bodysuits, accessories and swimwear, focuses on the concept of movement, featuring stylistic quirks such as voluminous wide leg pants and wide-sleeved, reimagined track tops with elongated straps. Its playful color palette is rooted in lavender, dark blue, red, green, pink and black, while the Originals signature tricolor stripe motif has reinterpreted the iconic three stripe design.

"Ji has such a strong point of view," said Alexandra Weiland, Director of Creative Projects - adidas Originals & Style, in a statement. "Her use of color, contrast and of course her signature design element of conceptual stripes couldn't have been more of a better fit for Originals. We saw an amazing creative opportunity to turn over our iconic three stripes and adicolor apparel to Ji to see where she would interpret them through her own lens."

Won Choi is the latest in a long line of big names to have been snapped up by adidas Originals -- previous collaborators include singer Rita Ora, the streetwear brand A Bathing Ape and the funk rock band N.E.R.D.

The adidas Originals by Ji Won Choi collection launches globally on February 23.
