Kim Kardashian launches 'Kimono' shapewear line

Kim Kardashian West has been keeping something big under wraps. The reality TV star and entrepreneur has unveiled her latest project: a line of shapewear dubbed ‘Kimono,' which has been in the making for the past year.

The brand will offer ‘solutionwear' in inclusive sizing and color options, designed to be worn under a wide range of fashion pieces.

Teaser photos posted to the label's newly-established Instagram account hint at underwear, bras, bodysuits and asymmetric shorts in varying shades of nude.

"Offering real solutions in 9 shades and sizes XXS - 4XL, Kimono Solutionwear celebrates and enhances the shape and curves of women," reads a caption from the brand. "Each piece is designed with soft yet supportive fabrics for everyone to feel their most confident."

"I would always cut up my shapewear to make my own styles, and there have also been so many times I couldn't find a shapewear color that blended with my skin tone so we needed a solution for all of this," Kardashian told her own 142 million followers. She also revealed that certain pieces, such as a one-legged biker short, were born from her own experiences of looking for supportive shapewear to team with a skirt or dress featuring a split on one side.

The line, which is "coming soon," is the latest in a string of high-profile launches for Kardashian, who hit the headlines with the launch of a new collection of body foundations via her KKW Beauty brand.

Kardashian isn't the only star working on undergarments: the actress Sofia Vergara has been focusing on shapewear through Eby, the intimates label she co-founded in 2017, unveiling a size-inclusive series called ‘Comfort Shape' last month.
