Kingpins24 goes to Canada

Denim tradeshow Kingpins is going digital once again this fall with a special focus on Canada.

The company said that its online denim supply chain trade show, Kingpins24, first launched in April, will return on September 22, with a two-hour long online event, co-presented by Canada-based Ani Wells, founder of Simply Suzette.

The event will explore ideas surrounding circularity, brick-and-mortar retail, trend and design, and more. Its format will be a departure from the company’s multi-day, 8-hour livestreams format, previously tested.

“Kingpins continues to explore digital ideas and opportunities and we are excited to collaborate with Ani on Kingpins24 Canada,” said Andrew Olah, founder of Kingpins Show and Kingpins24, in a news statement.

“As a Canadian it is refreshing for me to be able to shine a spotlight on my homeland – which rarely features in conversations about denim but is home to a lot of interesting and engaged denim players.”

Other brands and designers joining the event include the godfather of denim Adriano Goldschmied; designer and consultant Malin Ekengren; Brandon Svarc of Naked & Famous; Philippe Cantin, senior director of Sustainable Innovations and Circular Economy at the Retail Council of Canada, and more.

Most recently, Olah equally announced the upcoming launch of Kingpins Exchange, a new online denim marketplace and digital denim showroom platform, launched to serve its community’s supply chain sourcing needs.

Kingpins24 launched in April in the wake of the cancellation of Kingpins Amsterdam and held a second event in June 2020, after the cancellation of the Kingpins New York show.

In total, more than 4,000 denim industry professionals have tuned in for Kingpins24 livestreams and the events have seen more than 38,000 views of on-demand content.

Kingpins24 Canada will go live at 12pm Eastern time. Videos and content from the show will be posted to the Kingpins Show YouTube channel after the event has concluded.
