The Summer Fashion Lab will run for four consecutive weeks from July 11 through August 5, and will consist of college credit and non-credit courses for high school and visiting college students. The courses this year will include Fashion Magazines, The Stylist’s Role, and Fashion Blogger Boot Camp as well as new courses, Pop Culture’s Influence on Fashion, Street Style and Career Development & Personal Branding.

LIM expects to enroll over 400 students this year, which will be a record for the college. Last year, the program accepted US students from California, Oregon, Texas and Montana and students from abroad that hailed from Poland, Mexico and Brazil.

The newly created program for pre-teens known as Middle School Summer Lab will take place from August 8 through 12 and will cover merchandising, buying, visual merchandising and styling. The Middle School Summer Lab will include guest speaking from the fashion industry professionals and field trips to fashion companies. The program costs $800 and includes lunch, chaperones, transportation, field trips and supplies.

LIM College President Elizabeth S. Marcuse, "Our Summer Fashion Lab has a long tradition of giving high school and visiting college students the exciting opportunity to study fashion in New York City and learn firsthand about the many exciting career paths the fashion business has to offer. We're finding that students are becoming interested in the fashion business even before they enter high school, so we're adding a workshop for middle school students to also learn directly from industry professionals and get a jump-start on their future."

High school and college students interested in the Summer Fashion Lab are encouraged to sign up at the LIM website, and parents that wish to enroll their child in the Middle School Summer Lab can also head to the LIM website for enrollment and further information.
