Fashion startup Lawrence Hunt Dress Shirts announced on Thursday a partnership and endorsement agreement with Detroit Tigers starting catcher James McCann. The MLB star is the first official brand ambassador and face of the Lawrence Hunt Dress Shirts men’s dress shirt line.

"The first time I tried on a Lawrence Hunt shirt, I loved it immediately," said McCann. "I had never seen a shirt like it before. The extra stretch in the arms helps the shirt move with me. I can look and feel great after a game or when I'm out to dinner with my wife, not worrying about sweating."

The Detroit Tigers drafted McCann in the second round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft, and the catcher played in his first MLB game for the ball club in 2014. McCann, who turned 26 years old on June 13, played college baseball at the University of Arkansas on the Arkansas Razorbacks and earned silver with the US national baseball team at the Pan American Games.

"It's exciting to have James on our team," said Lawrence Hunt CEO Jeff Schattner. "He's a leader both on and off the field and a perfect fit for our brand. And the fact that he believes in the long-term growth of Lawrence Hunt says a lot about his faith in and support of the burgeoning Detroit startup scene."

Lawrence Hunt Dress Shirts launched in early 2016 and offers men’s and women’s dress shirts constructed with a performance fabric technology that makes dress shirts breathable and sweat-wicking. The brand’s dress shirts start at $50 for women and $65 for men.
