Within the concept store Just One Eye, between the works of Damien Hirst and the compressions of John Chamberlain, the very first collection dedicated to cannabis accessories from the brand Flora Nero was unveiled last Thursday evening, an event coordinated by Renato Alagao, Brand Partnerships Director at Just One Eye.

At the head of the brand Flora Nero, Eli Peer, also co-founder of the marketing and advertising agency Allenby Concept House New York, and his wife Anna Peer, wanted to bring a new dimension to cannabis use.

"Flora Nero was born out of the desire to disturb the traditional paradigm by creating a functional product that provides users with an exceptional cannabis experience, all while maintaining a high design aesthetic that can be proudly displayed," explained Anna Peer. "Until now, no brand had been interested in luxury and design around cannabis, we were keen to offer an elevated and totally unique experience when using our products."

Inspired by "the era of the space race, the prosperity of post-war America and the emerging jet set by incorporating shapes and silhouettes reminiscent of 1950s UFO imagery", the collection was designed by Flora Nero's creative director, Marc Thorpe, founder of his architecture and industrial design agency MTD.

It is composed of eight products available in black, bronze and gold including a roller tray, a table lighter, a ritual pipe, a pipe lighter, a globe, a travel case and a joint case. Each item is made up of anodized aluminum, the same used for Hermès house accessories, that combines with hand-blown glass and natural burl wood veneers "to provide exceptional functionality and aesthetic beauty," adds Peer.

In 2019, Barney's had already inaugurated a corner dedicated to cannabis accessories and entitled 'The High End'. A concept that brought together, at the time, vintage objects, cigarette paper brands and collectibles, but which was quickly stopped following the closure of the department store.

Through this invitation to Flora Nero, Just One Eye, the concept store imagined by the French-Italian Paola Russo, and located at 915 North Sycamore Avenue in Los Angeles, wants to continue diversifying its offer. The store looks to also multiply the events, interrupted because of the Covid-19 crisis.

"We want to move towards more eclecticism with an offer ranging from ready-to-wear to accessories and lifestyle in general," explained Russo. Dance will also be invited to Just One Eye, we will dedicate an event around jiu-jitsu and are currently working on organizing another event with Cartier for which we have exclusive distribution rights."
