In the role, Weng will report to KK Chua, the company’s Asia Pacific region president. She will be based in Shanghai.

Weng began her career with Mary Kay in 1995, serving as a Shanghai branch manager and customer service manager for Mary Kay China. Continuing with the company for over 20 years, she most recently served as senior commercial vice president.

Mary Kay, which operates its global beauty brand through a network of independent beauty consultants, said it counts China as one of its top three international markets.

“[Weng] understands our independent beauty consultants’ needs and works hard to fulfill those needs to support their businesses,” said Chua. “Within the company, she has successfully created a seamless link between sales, marketing and operations. We look forward to continued growth in China under her leadership.”

Weng marks the latest in a string of new executive hires across the company worldwide, following the January hires of Chaun Harper as senior vice president, chief manufacturing officer, and Dr. Lucy Gildea as senior vice president, chief scientific officer.

In addition, Weng’s appointment boosts Mary Kay’s image as a company that supports and promotes the advancement of working women. According to a statement from the company, 61 percent of its current global workforce and 46 percent of its global executive team is female.

Currently, Mary Kay products are sold in over 35 markets across the globe.
