May 30 - Moncler, which makes trendy goose-down jackets, was expected to receive clearance on Monday from the Italian bourse for an initial public offering, a source close to the situation said.

Moncler, aiming to list this summer alongside Italian fashion peers Ferragamo and Prada, plans to float more than 50 percent of its capital, the source said.

It began marketing the share sale to potential investors last week and will start a round of presentations next week, the source said. "The roadshow, across Europe and the U.S., will last two weeks."

The source also said market regulator Consob was expected to approve the listing this week.

Several luxury goods makers are planning to list this year to tap investor appetite for high-end goods firms.

Moncler is hoping to raise around 500 million euros ($714 million) from its IPO in Milan, the same stock market where Tuscan leather goods maker Ferragamo has applied to list last month.

Catwalk powerhouse Prada is eyeing a $2 billion listing in Hong Kong next month.

Prada would become the first Italian company to list on an Asian market that has already attracted companies such as Luxembourg-based luggage maker Samsonite.
