The Montreal fashion industry will be in the spotlight in Las Vegas until Wednesday as over 60 Quebec companies participate in Magic 2018, the largest fashion trade show in North America.

The mission is an effort to showcase the innovative character and creativity of the Canadian fashion city.

At the event, designers, manufacturers, distributors and retailers from Montreal’s fashion industry will showcase their 2018-19 winter/fall collections, meet with key buyers, and develop new business opportunities.

"Our government attaches considerable importance to missions such as this one because they enable foreign buyers to discover Quebec's strengths. During this international show, the fashion industry will increase opportunities to showcase their expertise and creativity, strengthen commercial ties, and develop partnerships," explained Dominique Anglade, Quebec Deputy Premier, Minister of the Economy, Science and Innovation and Minister responsible for the Digital Agenda, in a news statement.

Spanning categories such as womenswear, menswear, footwear, furs and outerwear, denim, wearables, accessories, and more, the exhibition zones at Magic 2018 will include brands such as Lolë, Au Noir, Yoga Jeans and more.

Montreal currently ranks third in North America for clothing manufacturing, after Los Angeles and New York, while the fashion industry in Quebec generates sales of CAD$8 billion in manufactured goods and in wholesaler-distributor sales.

Magic 2018 will attract over 4,000 exhibitors, including all major international fashion brands, and some 58,000 international visitors.
