Set to take place in Montreal August 19 to the 24, the annual six-day festival is a celebration of creativity in downtown Montreal that includes fashion shows, music shows, multidisciplinary performances and street dance competitions.

Once again this year, the downtown scene in Montreal’s Quartier des Spectacles will be transformed into a runway, and will feature both emerging and established brands from across Canada.

Kicking off the event is FMD’s conference series baptized 'FMD Talks', where local and international figures will take center stage including talks with Christophe de Lataillade, creative director of Thierry Mugler perfumes, as well as Marie Wilkinson, the artistic voice of Cutler and Gross, a luxury glasses brand from London.

Meanwhile, the runway will welcome fashion shows from August 21 to the 24. Over a dozen fashion shows will take place including from major brands like La Vie en Rose, Bikini Village, Dynamite and more, alongside Montreal designer favourites like Ève Gravel, and Pedram Karimi.

Other special runway presentations to look forward to include the unveiling of Vincent d’Amérique latest collaboration with mixed martial arts legend and Quebec icon, Georges St-Pierre.

The Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards (CAFA) ‘Stylist of the Year’, Cary Tauben, will equally be throwing his own showcase featuring a collection of on-trend looks with one-of-a-kind apparel and accessories from thrift retailer, Village des Valeurs.

The festival site will also be home to over 40 pop-up boutiques and fashion trucks, where visitors can shop local design talent from the likes of Atelier Syp, Horace Jewelry, Lovan M, This Ilk, WellDunn, and many more.

Sensation Mode currently expects more than 550,000 festivalgoers to attend the Mode & Design Festival this year.
