The former editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia was presented with the honor at a ceremony held at the Sydney Opera House.

Until retiring in 2013, Nancy Pilcher spent 40 years working for Vogue, culminating her career as editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia and vice-president of editorial development for Conde Nast Asia Pacific.

On October 23, Pilcher was awarded the pretigious Fashion Laureate 2015 for her contribution to the industry. Also in attendance was Vogue International Editor Suzy Menkes as the guest of honor.

The ceremony is now in its eighth year, with previous recipients of the award including Nicky and Simone Zimmermann, Collette Dinnigan, Akira Isogawa and Simon Lock, the founder of Australian fashion week.
