Nars Cosmetics celebrates a quarter century with a complete range of new lipsticks

Just in time for its 25th anniversary, NARS Cosmetics is unveiling a brand new range of no fewer than 60 lipsticks. The brand delved into its archives to create a variety of shades and finishes, which are rolling out this month.

The Nars Cosmetics brand, which was founded in 1994 by makeup artist and photographer François Nars, is celebrating its 25th anniversary by offering beauty addicts an audacious palette of 60 shades in matte, satin, and sheer finishes.

The formula, which is based in passion fruit and moringa oils, promises moisturizing, lightweight wear and intense color, with shades ranging from the more subdued to the more eccentric.

Poured in a black velvet matte tube imprinted with a white Nars logo, the collection includes a number of nudes (Cruising, Belle de Jour), blushing pinks (Roman Holiday, Little Princess, Dolce Vita, Sexual Healing), and vibrant reds (Bad Reputation, Rouge Insolent, Force Speciale, Inappropriate Red), rounded out with plum, chocolate, copper, purple, black, brown, lavender grey, and peach shades.


Birthdays are synonymous with surprises, and Nars Cosmetics has a big one in store for its fans, with a limited-edition reissue of its 1994 range of 12 debut lipsticks, poured for the occasion in a matte velvet red tube (again with white logo), as an homage to François Nars' favorite color.

Among the iconic colors, fans will find the bright orangey-red Heat Wave, the fuchsia of Funny Face, the deep pink of Transeurope Express, the frosty beige of Blonde Venus, and the more neutral beige of Honolulu Honey.
