More than five years after entering Canada with its first retail store, luxury retailer Nordstrom is finally set to launch an e-commerce platform for its customers across the border.

Nordstrom Canada will launch its own localized e-commerce website this spring, including custom features for the retailer’s Canadian customers.

On the Canadian site launching at Nordstrom.ca, customers will benefit from free standard shipping and returns, in-store online order pickup and duty-free purchases - all in Canadian dollars.

"With the launch of Nordstrom.ca, we’re excited to expand our services to Canadian customers to offer more ways for them to shop with us,” said Michelle Haggard, the senior vice president/regional manager of Nordstrom Canada, in an interview with Fashion Magazine.

The Seattle-based retailer opened its first Canadian store in September of 2014, at CF Chinook Centre in Calgary, and today operates six full line locations, following openings in Vancouver, Ottawa and Toronto.

Meanwhile, its first discount Rack store opened in March 2018, at Vaughan Mills mall, north of Toronto, and has quickly grown to include a total of seven locations across the country.

Nordstrom did not yet share which brands and offerings will be available on the Canadian site.
