One year after the opening of its first Officine Générale boutique in New York, in the Soho district, Pierre Mahéo, designer and founder of Officine Générale, has just opened in Los Angeles, in the posh Pacific Palisades district, west of Santa Monica.

The founder chose to open his address in the Caruso Palisades Village shopping center, which now has about 40 boutiques ranging from Lululemon to Bottega Veneta, Frame, Brunello Cucinelli and Buck Mason.

The 1,200-square-foot store has been designed by himself and his wife Nina Haverkamp along with Paris-based architect Juliette Rubel who has helped realize the designs of the Officine Générale stores in Paris, London and New York.

“The first time I went to Palisades Village in the fall of 2021, my wife and I had an immediate connection with the space," explained Mahéo. "We were impressed with the quality of the development, the amazing surroundings, and the community spirit it exuded. I am so glad to open my first store in California in the Palisades Village and being able to offer Officine Générale to our friends in Los Angeles.”

The interior design of the Palisades Village store marks an evolution of the boutique concept imagined by Pierre Mahéo in Paris and New York. It features several artworks selected by Pierre and Nina with a colorful composition by artist Michaël Schouflikir made from pieces of wood recovered from old theater sets and three collages by artist Miriam Tölke.

A set of hand sculptures installed on the wall complements the decor adding a personal touch to the interior with two mid-century foundry pots used for plants, and all the racks and shelves have been custom made locally in Los Angeles, in hammered steeled and in oak wood. As in the New York and Paris boutiques, flannel curtains cover the fitting rooms.

The store will carry a wide selection of both the brand's men’s and women’s collections, as well as the Daily Classics line, which is exclusive to Officine Générale stores.
