YNAP’s high-end outlet e-tailer The Outnet has announced a collaboration collection with Roksanda that also has a big charity element to it.

The two companies are linking with charity Malaika and said a percentage of proceeds from the sales of the capsule will be donated to the charity that “aims to empower young girls and their communities through education and health programs in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).”

There’s already a clear fashion link to the charity, it having been founded in 2007 by international model and philanthropist Noëlla Coursaris Musunka, “a personal supporter of Roksanda.”

The capsule reflects Roksanda Ilincic’s signature use of colour and intricate cuts with “reinterpretations of both the bold and subtle moments that have shaped her archive.” And it’s “inspired primarily by the important concept of circular economy in the fashion industry, positivity and change.”

The result of all this is a 17-piece collection of the “sculptural shapes, prints, fabrics and vibrant colours from past collections” that aim to “address how femininity and empowerment can be shown in both strength and vulnerability.”

The Outnet has previously released collections that supported charities including mothers2mothers, Smart Works and Women for Women International.

For this latest release, it asked girls supported by the Malaika charity living in the DRC to contribute to the project by colouring shapes related to the collection. These pictures were then used as the backdrop for the creative campaign featuring Coursaris Musunka. The collection launches on January 24.
