With more than 100 million monthly active users, Pinterest is a powerful marketing platform for brands and retailers, and its potential is about to get even more visible.

The platform for sharing visual content has announced plans to introduce a series of business tools to meet the needs of companies who use the platform to grow their business.

Business profiles - Pinterest

The new free tools include business profiles, which will clearly identify accounts that belong to companies and give followers an easy way to contact them either through phone calls, text messages or emails, as well as get directions.

Business profiles will also unlock access to insights, a new tool to provide businesses with information about their followers and which posts resonate better than others.

Further, these well-performing posts will be able to be turned into ads within the app through a new tool called ‘ability to promote’. With this feature, businesses will be able to select a target audience and promote an ad for any length of time.

Business profiles, insights and the ability to promote will be rolling out in the US, Australia and New Zealand in the coming months, and will be available in all regions globally by the end of the year.
