Quiz links with Felicity Hayward for plus-size occasionwear
As the UK’s plus-size market continues to be one of the most dynamic growth sectors, fast-expanding retailer Quiz is this week entering the category in a deal with model and blogger Felicity Hayward.
The offer, launching March 1, will include smart-casual items and occasionwear with Hayward as the face and body of the brand.
Hayward, who four days ago said on her Instagram account that “something exciting is about to drop next week” has a high profile and has worked with a number of leading photographers, including Patrick Demarchelier, Miles Aldridge, and Rankin.
She has also featured in glossy and trend-led magazines such as Vogue, Glamour, i-D, Schon!, and Numero.
Quiz’s business development director Sheraz Ramzan said the new “curve” range is in line with its plans to broaden the product portfolio, “ensuring that we cater to every woman.”
Its occasionwear focus for the launch is clearly targeted at the seasonal wedding and event market. Ramzan added: “As spring approaches and the wedding and racing season gets underway, we’ve got great outfits for every occasion and every body shape.”
The company has expended its offer in recent months and will also add bridalwear from April.
Both bridal and plus-size are seen as key ways to drive growth in a UK fashion retail sector seeing major challenges at the moment. Other chains to have moved into bridal this year include Lipsy, Topshop and Whistles
Meanwhile expanding chain Seasalt recently announced the addition of plus size and last year Boohoo said its new plus-size offer was growing rapidly.
