Ray Ban unveils new eyewear collaboration with Honey Dijon

Eyewear brand Ray Ban has debuted a new collaborative capsule collection with DJ, transgender rights advocate, producer and style icon, Honey Dijon.

Ray-Ban x Honey Dijon

The collection consists of three exclusive frames inspired by the DJ’s bold and eclectic style, pulling inspiration from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s. Featured styles include a version of the Ray Ban Olympian Aviator with ice-white frames, silver temples and gradient green lenses; the Square 1973 with red-on-brown Havana frames and pink evolve lenses; and a dramatic, 24K gold-plated model of the Wings II silhouette.

The collaboration comes as part of the eyewear brand’s ‘Ray Ban Studios’ initiative, a series of limited-edition product collaborations with musical artists. Prices for the Honey Dijon x Ray Ban Studios capsule range from $228 to $518, and the special frames will be available for purchase at Ray-Ban.com and in Ray Ban flagship stores in limited quantities, beginning October 14.

Far from Dijon’s only foray into the fashion world, the DJ -- who boasts 137k followers on Instagram -- launched a collaborative collection with Commes des Garçons, entitled 'Honey Fucking Dijon', through Dover Street Market on October 5.

The Honey Dijon capsule follows Ray Ban Studios’ collaboration with “sonic innovator” Peggy Gou earlier this year, a collection featuring two special-edition frames and a sunglasses chain.

The new collaboration comes as Ray Ban parent company EssilorLuxottica -- the merger of French lenses specialist Essilor and Italian spectacles maker Luxottica --anticipates a future sales boost as a result of a growing demand for vision correction.

During a presentation made in September, the eyewear company said it is targeting mid-single digit sales growth at constant exchange rates for the next five years, and predicted that its adjusted net profit would be equivalent to 1 to 1.5 times sales growth.
