Reformation launches into footwear

Los Angeles-based brand Reformation has launched into footwear.

The brand, known for its focus on sustainability and popular offering of dresses and jeans, has taken its first steps into the business of shoes with a range of 11 sandal styles including espadrilles, flats and heels. Starting at $128 for a simple flat and up to $218 for a strappy heeled Porto sandal, the debut collection of footwear is inspired by 90s silhouettes and offered in a range of neutrals, pop colors and metallics. 

As with the brand's other offerings, the shoes prioritize eco-friendly materials like chrome-free leather and jute. According to the brand, the footwear saves an average of 52 percent CO2 emissions, 70 percent water and 65 percent waste compared to most shoes bought in the U.S.

The debut collection of shoes is available now on reformation.com. In a press statement, Reformation said that new shoe styles will be added on a monthly basis. 

Founded in 2009 by CEO Yael Aflalo, Reformation has an audience of 1.3 million followers on Instagram, and according to reports, the brand is thought to be annual sales growth of over 50 percent.
