The Los Angeles-based brand is set to open its first Canadian brick-and-mortar store in Yorkdale Shopping Centre on Thursday.

Known for its focus on sustainability and popular offering of dresses and jeans, the 1,650-square-foot space will stay true to the company’s green practices, from store design to product offering.

The store will feature natural and recyclable materials, including vintage furniture, eco-friendly fabrics, reusable totes, hangers and garment bags, and will offset 100 percent of electricity usage with wind energy.

Likewise, customers will be able to shop a selection of the brand’s styles made of sustainable and recycled fabrics like lyocell and rayon, including summer dresses, jeans, t-shirts and tops, shoes and bags.

Reformation joins a number of first-to-Canada retailers to open at Yorkdale in recent years including luxury retailers like Valentino, Bottega Veneta and Van Cleef & Arpels, to name a few.

Coinciding with the store opening, the brand has also announced a new Reformation e-commerce experience for Canadians including perks such as free express shipping, easy returns and no duties added at checkout.

Founded in 2009 by CEO Yael Aflalo, the brand has since opened 14 stores across the U.S., and is only growing.

Most recently, it introduced footwear to its product offering, as well as a permanent plus-size collection. The sustainable fashion brand is also a celebrity favourite with customers including the likes of Selena Gomez, Emily Ratajowski, Kendall Jenner, and Meghan Markle.
