Rent the Runway has opened the doors of its West Coast flagship at 228 Grant Avenue in San Francisco, California, marking the company's largest store to-date with more than 20 fitting rooms.

Rent the Runway

The store, which opened on May 8, boasts two floors of retail space spread across 8,300 square feet. The location's second floor holds the majority of the store's clothing and accessories, and will cater to Rent the Runway Unlimited members with a rotating stock of over 3,000 items. The floor also features appointment fitting rooms for RTR Reserve customers to try on their wears before renting.

The third floor acts as a lounge and co-working space, and features the company's first communal dressing room and first-ever Beauty Bar. At the bar, visitors can experience an extension of the company's event-ready services through access to Dyson hair care technology, Amika hair products, and Juice Beauty skincare products.

Additional lounge offerings available to company subscribers include complimentary coffee, West Elm furniture and free WiFi, as well as tech features like RTR drop-off, self-service check-out and drop-off stations and an instant service pick-up window.

Designed by Alda Ly Architecture and Hilary Koyfman with an all-female design team, the San Francisco flagship plans to further the women-founded company's commitment to female empowerment with a schedule of programming and networking events specifically catered to women.

According to Rent the Runway, San Francisco is the company's third largest subscription market "with more than 55 percent of subscribers in the market using the store today," it added.
