Rent the Runway (RTR) is bringing its rentable designer goods to the hotel industry, with the launch of a new service in partnership with Marriott International’s W Hotels.

Rent the Runway x W Hotels

Through Rent the Runway’s new ‘Rent the Runway Closet Concierge’ service, W Hotel guests as select W hotels—including W Aspen, W South Beach, W Washington D.C. and W Hollywood—will have the opportunity to rent four styles from a selection of curated pieces in RTR’s ‘Unlimited Closet’ for $69, upon booking their room.

Launched on December 5, the Closet Concierge service gives hotel guests access to all of RTR’s designer items, as well as a selection of pieces curated for the location of each participating W hotel, taking into account factors like the trending colors, designers, silhouettes and climate of the local area. When guests are ready to leave the hotel, they can return their RTR items at the hotel welcome desk.

"Traveling without luggage has always been my dream,” said Jennifer Hyman, co-founder and CEO of Rent the Runway.

“We are thrilled to partner with W Hotels to bring the RTR Closet Concierge to life, so travelers can simply show up and have their dream closet waiting for them in their hotel room.”

"Collaborating with Rent the Runway…allows us to reinvent the way our guests pack and dress as they travel,” added Anthony Ingham, global brand leader at W Hotels.

“Skipping the packing process is a whole new level of luxury for our guests and is yet another surprising way continue to reinvent hospitality."

The hotel service marks the latest expansion of Rent the Runway’s business model since the company inked a $125 million investment in March.

Since its launch in 2009, the company has grown its offering to include multiple tiers of rental membership options, a clothing rental offering dedicated to luxury childrenswear, and tapped into influencer marketing with the launch of its ‘tastemaker’ collaboration series in November.

As of March of this year, Rent the Runway was valued at over $1 billion.
