New York City-based designer Robert Geller in February celebrated the 10th anniversary of the launch of his namesake label with the debut of a retrospective fall 2017 collection. The German designer continued the milestone celebration with the launch of a 10th anniversary hoodie, and the launch of his ‘Immigrant’ t-shirt, exclusively with Grailed (with proceeds going to the American Civil Liberties Union).

The 2017 CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year nominee on Tuesday took the celebration up a notch by announcing the launch of his new line, Gustav Von Aschenbach at New York Fashion Week: Men’s.

Gustav Von Aschenbach is a contemporary take on classic German references. The new line takes it name from the main character of the Thomas Mann novel, Death in Venice.

Geller established the new collection from the desire to make his designs easily available for the broader public. In addition the new line will be more affordable than the designer's eponymous label.

With the introduction of Gustav Von Aschenbach, Geller's namesake label will adopt the See Now Buy Now format. The next Robert Geller collection will be shown to buyers during market week in July 2017, but the collection will be unveiled to the public only when it hits stores next year.
