Rocky Brands on Thursday announced a new military contract for “Hot Weather” combat boots. The one-year contract includes four one-year options.
As per the agreement, Rocky Brands is expected to ship an annual amount of approximately $16 million in boots. The maximum amount of boots shipped per year cannot exceed $20 million. Rocky Brands expects to begin fulfilling the order in the first half of 2017.
The company is currently fulfilling an order it received to produce “Temperate Weather” combat boots that was announced in February 2016 and an existing contract to produce “Hot Weather” boots that was announced in February 2013.
Rocky Brands’ military contracts have been very beneficial for the company. In the second quarter, the company reported a 139% increase in military segment sales, which offset its wholesale sales decline of 23%.
