Shiseido Americas appoints Deanna Johnston as Chief Information Officer

Shiseido Americas on Tuesday announced the appointment of Deanna Johnston as Chief Information Officer, effective October 26, 2016. She will report to Ronald Gee, Chief Financial Officer of Shiseido Americas.

As Chief Information Officer, Johnston will work closely with regional and global leadership, the Digital Center of Excellence and other internal groups to further develop Shiseido America’s IT strategic roadmap and organizational structure. She will also be an integral part of the corporate structure of Shiseido Americas prestige brands Nars, Bare Escentuals, Shiseido Cosmetics America, Beauté Prestige International USA (BPI), Laura Mercier and RéVive, and subsidiaries in Canada and Brazil.
 
Johnston joins Shiseido from Haler Group where she served as Chief Information Officer of the Americas division and led the integration of the company’s GE Appliances entity. Prior to Haler Group, Johnston worked at Belkin International, Ingram Micro, Apria Healthcare, Arthur Andersen Business Consulting and Price Waterhouse.

Shiseido in October appointed former Fresh CEO Jean-Marc Plisson as CEO of the new Beauty Prestige Group that includes brands Laura Mercier and RéVive that were acquired in June 2016. The company’s American subsidiary this year also appointed Claudia Poccia the Chief Marketing Officer of Bare Escentuals, Kathy Cullin as General Manager for Bare Escentuals, a new position for the company, and Jill Scalamandre as President of the newly launched Global Makeup Center of Excellence.
