Phipps Plaza transformed in recent years, adding hospitality and residential components. The new elements to be added to the mall beginning in 2018 include a Nobu Atlanta restaurant and a Nobu Hotel, a curated dining experience, a 90,000-square-foot Life Time Athletic healthy living and entertainment destination, and a 12-story Class A office building, complete with a three-story, lower-level parking garage. Construction will begin in 2018 with a phased opening beginning in spring 2020.

"Today's exciting news without question enhances Phipps Plaza as the luxury destination of choice for shopping, dining, entertainment, and hospitality in Atlanta and the entire Southeast," said Patrick Peterman, Simon's VP of Development and Asset Intensification.

Located in 3500 Peachtree RD in Atlanta’s Buckhead district, Phipps Plaza is home to boutiques such as Gucci, Versace, Jeffrey, Giorgio Armani, Valentino, Hugo Boss, Bally & Tiffany & Co. Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue currently anchor the mall, and the stores will remain at the mall as new elements are added to the mall during construction.

Simon this year opened international mall developments in France, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, and Edmonton, as well as US developments Norfolk Premium Outlets in June and The Shops at Clearfork in Fort Worth, TX in September.
