The 6,000-square-foot retail store is set to open along the Magnificent Mile at 60 East Walton Street, with the second floor acting as a gallery space to display the retailer's latest collections.

“Chicago has an incredible sneaker culture in its own right, beginning with the “Chicago” Jordan 1 to being the hometown of contemporary sneaker design leaders like Kanye West and Virgil Abloh,” said John McPheters, co-founder and co-CEO of Stadium Goods.

“Stadium Goods is built on a foundation of culture and community, and being a part of the Chicago community was a huge draw.”

The company has made its name as an online destination for new and second-hand, but never worn, cult sneakers and streetwear from brands including Adidas, Nike, Palace and Supreme.

On the Magnificent Mile, Stadium Goods will be in the company of several luxury brands, where co-founder and co-CEO Jed Stiller, believes the company will “fit right in.”

After elevating the online sneaker and streetwear experience, Stadium Goods opened its first store in New York City in 2015.

Farfetch bought Stadium Goods for an enterprise value of $250m, payable in the form of cash and shares, in December 2018. Most recently, the company also landed successful global partnerships with the likes of Alibaba, Sotheby’s, Fred Segal, and Christie’s.

Ahead of Stadium Goods’ Chicago retail opening slated for October 1, the Stadium Goods Market Center for trade-ins, located at 1719 North Damen Avenue, opened Monday. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, consignment drop-off is by appointment only.
