US-based skincare company StriVectin has signed supermodel-turned-role-model Lauren Hutton as its Global Brand Ambassador, heralding a new era for the brand.

Lauren Hutton - Strivectin

Although widely known as one of the largest independent clinical brands in the country, StriVectin has never before signed a celebrity face, but said it regards Hutton as an "age-positive inspiration and symbol of empowerment," and someone who perfectly embodies their positive Outsmart AgingTM philosophy -- resulting in a multi-year brand partnership.

The media campaign, which will debut in September via magazines and online, will feature photos of Hutton with her goddaughter -- Nina Clemente -- alongside the message "Hold on to your collagen. At every age."

The announcement also coincides with the re-launch of SD AdvancedTM Plus Intensive Moisturizing Concentrate for Wrinkles & Stretch Marks -- StriVectin's very first product -- which kick-started the cosmeceutical category in 2002 with its ground-breaking "Better than Botox?" campaign, and went on to sell over 8 million tubes.

Hutton -- who is famous worldwide as one of the original supermodels and has remained a recognized face on the American fashion scene over her decade-spanning career -- said she is delighted to be partnering with StriVectin, a brand she said is "hip enough to show the world that we can be beautiful at all ages."

"The thing I'm proudest of in all my work is forcing my way at age 47 back into modelling. And this, now . . . this is the second proudest, doing this campaign with Nina and StriVectin."

StriVectin CEO Joan Malloy added that the brand has really met its "match" with Hutton and had wanted to work with her for some time.

"She redefined beauty when she first popped on the scene five decades ago -- and she's still doing it today," Malloy said.

"She's showing up still, again and again, to show all women, that life doesn't end at 40! We're inspired by her intelligence, resilience, authenticity and fierce determination. We see her as a real partner, with a shared passion and purpose. We're not just interested in her face -- we want her voice and opinions as well."
