Becker is the most successful German tennis player of all time, with a total of 49 individual tournaments under his belt - including some of the world’s most important annual tennis events.

In a filing in the UK, he was announced as brand ambassador for Pegasus Development, a Swiss wealth management firm that recently acquired Germany-based Fashion Concept. As such, he will design a fashion collection with a focus on smart casualwear with “something for everyone”.

Successful fashion and footwear brands linked to famous athletes include Björn Borg, named after the Swedish tennis player, and of course, Nike’s Air Jordan, which is endorsed by former basketball star Michael Jordan.

Enjoying the support of Scottish tennis champion Andy Murray has also proved highly successful for British activewear brand Castore, which recently opened its first flagship store in London after seeing sales nearly triple in 2019.

Fashion Concept said the Boris Becker line will launch this year, but didn’t give a timeline or more specific details. The Mannheim-headquartered group owns fashion brands including Jimmy Sanders and Auden Cavill, as well as having a contract for a brand with ‘hot felon’ Jeremy Meeks.
